I was fortunate enough to be at the Autocar Awards last night. Martin Brundle was hosting, and he confirmed he will be commentating on Formula One races for the BBC next year - the announcement will be made official on the 24th.
Ron Dennis was also in attendance - picking up a gong, in fact - and talked us all through that last lap in Brazil. He claims there was only a six-seconds-or-so period when McLaren thought they might have blown the championship (when the Toyotas' first sector times on dry tires weren't quite as slow as they'd predicted); then the second-sector times came in and they knew - bar a major ***-up - that Lewis would overtake Glock.
Anyway, lots more discussion last night on how 2009 will be different with the changes in rules/regs - roll on March!
