iTunes stops playing

can anyone tell me why if i select an artist/album to play if i then click into a different artist itunes stops playing at the end of the track?

It almost as if it can't continue on to the next track if i am not in the artist or all music windows.

thanks,
Ed

Re: iTunes stops playing

Just the way it works m'fraid. If you want an album to play continuously you need to leave it selected, however playlists allow you to get round it with just a bit more work.

Re: iTunes stops playing

yeah that would, but really is an album not really a playlist in itself?

Re: iTunes stops playing

Nope (though I agree this is bad and could be programmed in the future hopefully).

I think they all work like this.

Just stop fiddling with it ;-)

Re: iTunes stops playing

Well I use MediaMonkey and when I double click an album it creates a playlist of just the album tracks. This means I'm free to fiddle away, looking through my music library that is until I double click again and create a new playlist. Do believe Winamp is the same.
It is my main bugbear with Itunes though they sort of half heartedly sorted in the latest version 8 with the album art grid view. Itunes stops you fiddling and I like to fiddle, no references to (Media)Monkey's please!
