As a long time IBS sufferer should I pickup my favourite chicken madras on the way home tonight or go for something less spicy which I won't enjoy as much but that won't upset my bowels to the same extent?

Tricky one without knowing the full extent of your symptoms, but I would tend to agree with Ronnie James Dio - "live for today, for tomorrow never comes". Even if tomorrow your a--- does look like a Japanese flag:

Interesting question, JD - I thought he was but apparently not. The Wilko Johnson Band still tour, and apparently teamed up with The Hamsters for dates a couple of years ago - now there's a band I can recommend (if you like covers of songs exclusively done by three-piece blues bands - ie ZZ Top and Hendrix).
