Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

I think any of the really cheap [and cheesey] spaghetti westerns that occassionally pop up on TV. I love the way the voices and mouth movement is totally out of synch.

A few years ago there was one shown [I can't remember the title] and the scene was with bandits riding through no-mans land and in the distance your could clearly see a modern day train zipping past. Marvellous!

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

For me, and by a country mile Austin Powers (whatever the 1st one was called)

The least funny 'comedy' I have ever had the misfortune to have to sit through.
Strangely enough Mike Myers stars in another truly bad comedy "So I married an Axe murderer"
“Social progress can be measured by the social position of the female sex” - Karl Marx
“First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.” - Mahatma Ghandi

One of the woist films I've had to sit through recently (I was staying at someone's house) was on just last week – Croc. Quite an appropriate title really.

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

saw something a while ago with jason statham...? might have been transporter...? Anyway, it doesnt deserve to be remembered.

I think im detedcting a them here - and film i remember much obviously had something about it, so i think ive forgotten th etruly awful ones.

incidentally, i saw me, you, and everyone... too. cant remember it. at all. just googled for some pics. nothin'. i mean, saw plenmty of pics, but they didnt trigger anything, and yet im sure i have seen it. i know it, in fact.

superman returns and spiderman 3 must be mentioned.

exorcist 2 was pretty bad. the two prequels were even worse. the third, (second sequel) wasnt bad tho, imo. not awful at all.

Sorry, im trying to think of something truly contemptible.

EDIT - Good Lord! Typo-agogo baby! Apologies. But im not gonna correct them. Lazy.

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

Can't remember the title of the monster.... deleted it from my brain. It must have been bad though, because ever since I read reviews on rotten tomatoes before watching a film.
IMHO anything under 80 % isn't even worth considering...

Edit: A film I recently watched that qualifies for worst is Sin City. Incredibly clean picture transfer on dvd, but the story and acting...dreadful, truly dreadful.

"the hole" is a terrible film, also the italian job, the remake not the original, you can always rely on the americans to ruin a good classic movie

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

Thats a tough question to answer, having spent several years judging an amateur filmmaking competition I've seen some right stinkers. It's easier to pick the most disappointing films really, the ones that promised so much more than they delivered like Spider Man 3, or which blew an otherwise good film with a few ill-judged moments, like Vantage Point or The Deer Hunter.

I couldn't get along with Sin City either, it got the boot after about forty minutes of desperately hoping it was going to turn into the work of genius everyone else seemed to have watched. In recent weeks we've had a good run of better than average films at www.theleisurelab.co.uk, with the notable exception being this one: http://86.54.170.10/Haymarket/en/Movies/The-Bucket-List/

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

Crash is a good film.

Anything with Jim Carrey in it is usually pretty doddam awful, or Mike Myers or in fact anyone who thinks acting like a child and pully funny faces constitutes humour

To a large extend I agree with what you said about Carrey and Myers. They had there magic moments but in an ultimate effort to get to the top, they've made a caricature of themselves.

"...anyone who think acts like a child and pully funny faces constitutes humor"

In your view does this include MR. Bean?

Re: Worst film you've ever seen.

I'd go for the Tom Cruise War of the Worlds remake. Spent most of the film hoping that the martians would manage to wipe out the entire obnoxious family, (and most of the rest wondering why they made stupid and pointless changes to the arrival story).
