I don't think you've quite got the concept DJ - there's plenty of levels made by the developers, the level designer just extends the game ad inifinitum basically. Even if you yourself don't really want to design levels, there are plenty of people out there who will love it and, when they publish them online, you can play their level designs without lifitng a finger yourself.

But as you said, not your cup of tea so probably best to leave it at that.

Now if you really want to get into level designing then surely Far Cry 2 has to be the definitive level designing game.

Halo 3 is cool for that as well but it can take a age to get the level right and loose out on some serious fragging time in the process!!!

Not a clue as haven't seen it. I'd be very surprised if it offers the same level of freedom as LBP though. You can literally create anything (and I mean anything). The real world physics engine makes it much more fun than you might imagine - I'd really suggest giving it a go if you get a chance.

Re: Little Big Planet

Halo 3's Forge mode is blown away by Far Cry's level editor, you dont just place stuff on a predetermined map like on Halo 3, you get to make the map yourself on an empty canvas.

Check out this video it shows exactly what im on about

How old do you have to be to be alowed to say that? I get told by my Wife that at 37 I am to old to be playing games as they "are for kids"

LOL I dont think iv been whooped yet by any minors, or any adults who have a decent connection. But i guess the youngest kid iv played has been about 8. I can say i was disgusted becuase i could hear his parents in the background..maybe the parents thought it said 8 instead of 18 on the cover!

Re: Little Big Planet

Loving LBP, but am I the only one having problems with the sound?

I have my PS3 set up to output DD5.1 over Optical, and when I play the game my DSP-E800 picks up the Dolby Digital signal but the sound it terrible.

The mix of sounds is all wrong with Stephen Fry's voice coming from the rear speakers.

I may have a duff Optical Cable but everything works fine with DVD and BlueRay disks.

The only disks I have problems with are LBP and Buzz. With these disks I have to revert back to using my TVs speakers which is pointless as I'd rather be using my B&W MT-30s.

Any thoughts?

Re: Little Big Planet

Strange, mine is all hooked up via HDMI and don't have any issue with it. I've noticed the sound all comes through as Multichannel on my amp rather than Dolby Digital etc. though which suggests it's coming through as Linear PCM - it's just a guess but you could try setting the optical port to output as Linear PCM rather than Bitstream and see if it helps. The setting is under Video Settings, then BD Audio Output Format (Optical Digital). Remember to change it back when watching Blu-Rays and DVDs otherwise you won't get the proper signal sent to your amp.

Edit - Also, one other thought, go to Sound Settings and Audio Output Settings. Select Digital Out (Optical) and then make sure you have all the Linear PCM boxes ticked. This might account for it as well.
